Growing Independence

Helping toddlers discover what they can do

The toddler years are full of change.

Children are becoming more independent, developing language, forming friendships and discovering how the world works.

Our toddler environment gives children the space and encouragement to try things for themselves while knowing that supportive adults are close by.

Learning through play

Children have access to books, toys and learning resources designed for their age and stage.

Activities include:

  • Creative play
  • Stories and songs
  • Role play
  • Puzzles and games
  • Early maths
  • Music and movement
  • Sensory exploration
  • Physical activities
  • Outdoor play

Confidence and communication

We encourage children to express themselves, communicate their needs and develop positive relationships with other children.

Small everyday achievements – putting on a coat, choosing an activity, joining a group activity or trying something new – all help children become more confident and independent.
