Our Facilities
Our premises have been specially converted and extended for use as a nursery with purpose-built classrooms and bathroom facilities to cater for the different age groups and abilities. Nappies for all babies and children are provided by the nursery.
We also arrange walks around the village for all the children. At certain times throughout the year we organise day trips away from the nursery, our main event being our summer outing.
We organise a range of fun sponsored events for the children to take part in, to raise funds for the children’s charities that the nursery supports.
3 Months – 2 years (babies)
We accept babies from three months old and have created a separate area, away from the older and more active children, where they are able to explore and develop in an environment created specifically for them. There is also a sleep room adjacent to the babies’ room where each child has his or her own cot on the days that they attend the nursery. This enables them to continue their own sleep patterns throughout the day without being disturbed by other children.
2-3 years (toddlers)
Toddlers have their own room with toilets and washing facilities specifically designed for small children. Their room is well equipped with books, toys and learning resources suitable for their age group. They also have direct access into our garden area.
3-5 years (Pre-school)
Our pre-school room for the older children also has toilets and washing facilities specifically designed for children. The room is well equipped with a range of resources and begins to focus on early maths and literacy at an age appropriate level. They also have direct access into our garden area.
All rooms follow the EYFS framework and focus on the following seven areas of learning:
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Using these areas as our basis we help to develop each child’s full potential through a variety of adult led and child initiated activities. These include a range of craft activities, role play, story times, games, music and movement, early maths, group activities and lots of outdoor learning.
French lessons take place and are taught by an accredited French tutor which helps to support children’s confidence, use of language and is delivered in a fun and engaging way suitable to the children’s age and development.
We offer further extra curricula activities throughout the year such as animal experiences, cooking activities and lots of planting and growing in our eco garden area.
